Weekend Re-post from Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Terrific Tuesday 1/24/12

What a Terrific Tuesday this is!!  Yesterday I did a separate post for my 5th-bead-soup-blog-party adventure.  You can see the beads I received and my timeline on the above link.  I have to say, I am VERY excited!!  The collection of beads and Crystals are just beautiful!  I have already started forming some designs in my head.  I'll post more photos as I go along, but I can NOT post the final set until the big reveal and hop on March 3rd!

As many of you have seen my work grow and develop over the past couple of years I want to thank you all.  It is because of your continued support that I get to spend my days beading.  If any of you didn't see it yet, I am running a 'free gift' promotion in my studio, this is for you!

It is actually very simple, if you spend $20 or more (total purchase) you'll get a pair of my Swarovski Crystal earrings for free!  That is not a bad deal!  But, I can't run it forever, so you only have until the end of January to get in on these free Swarovski Crystal earrings!  Isn't there 'someting' you just can't live without in my studio???

0 Terrific Tuesday 7/10/12

So, yesterday my AC went out!  Yep, in the HOT summer in North Florida.... we had no AC.  Our Repair Guy came out and turned out we thought we had to replace some parts.  Now, this morning when he started working on it we found out there was even more wrong......now it looks like we will have to replace the entire unit.... yep, $2,300!!!!  OMG!!  But, considering it was over 90o last night in the house - with 5 fans going - we don't have much choice!!  So, the Repair Guy is off to get the new unit and we'll go from there. Wish us luck.... I think I need to have a FLASH - help me pay for my AC sale, what do you think?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But on another note, a really GOOOOOD note....over the weekend I received my bead swap from Fire Phoenix Jewellery.  I am just so amazed at how beautiful these beads are!!  Just look what I have to work with:
And the even more amazing thing is that she made the clasp and the beautiful headpins!!  Oh My Goodness, I am going to have so much fun!!
Remember to check back and watch this creation in the process.  I can't show you the whole things until until the reveal - ours is on the second one on 8/11.
0 Marvelous Monday 3/5/12
I am not sure how many of you read my blog over the weekend, but I finally got to reveal my Bead Soup Creations.  I had so much fun doing this challenge.  It was very interesting for me to design things with beads that I would never have thought of before.  I was REALLY out of my 'comfort zone' with two of the creations I did.  I did, however, fall in love with all of them when I was done.
 Then, the biggest boost to my ego... all but the Glowing in the Black of Night Swarovski Crystal Springwire Bracelet  sold over the weekend!  I just can not tell you how flattered I am!!  It brings my 'creative spirit' a boost like nothing else when someone buys my creations.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Then today I get to show off my creation for the CreationsColorChallengeGroup.  The colors... can you guess? Pink and Yellow!  This one was so fun for me to make, the bright colors kept my spirit up and the flowers remind that it is spring!  What a wonderful way to start off the week!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now I am not sure if any of you saw this or not, but I am the featured artist on ArtFire!  Yep, that is right.... ya hoooo for me!!  If you would like to read the interview (there are some things in there that might explain a little about me) simple click below!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Today I would like to feature QuietsideCrafts. The wonderful lady started taking photos at the age of 8 and has never looked back.  With her love of family and of photography it is not hard to see why here photos are not only nice to look at, they pull at your emotions, too.  Then when you read her bio you'll find her theme for her book is all about Maple Syrup... hu?  I guess you'll have to read about her to find out!!  Remember to support your handmade artists and visit all of her links!

And for closing today I would like to leave you with this quote;

Those who are lifting the world upward and onward are those who encourage more than criticize.

56 5th Bead Soup Blog Party

 ❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦

It is finally here!

I am so excited to reveal to you what I made!!

First let me start off by saying thank you to Ms. Lori Anderson at Pretty Things Blog for doing her wonderful Bead Soup Party again.  I was lucky enough to get chosen and am just thrilled to see what everyone else - including my swap partner - Beaded by Sandra has come up with.

Here is what I was sent....

Isn't it a beautiful mix?

I had so much fun trying different designs and adding in different beads to the mix.  The first project I did was - of course - the Purple beads.  The deep purple beads are Purple Agate and they are just 'shimmering' with color.  Then I just HAD TO use the beautiful Swarovski Crystals - in Purple Haze.  These added just the right amount of sparkle to the mix.  Now I needed to add 'just a little bit more' beads to fill up the strand.  I happened to have some beautiful Porcelain beads that were Purple Marble in color... a great fit!  Add in the BEAUTIFUL Sterling Toggle Clasp that she sent and some end caps and findings and.... here is what I came up with:

The next bead/centerpiece that drew my attention was the very 'earthy' bird from SpiritedEarth.  The Greek Ceramic beads blended so well into the theme I was going for that I kept the earthy look going with some Unakite stones that I already had in stock.  This necklace set just 'screams' Mother Earth, what do you think?

 And now on to the wonderful Chili Pepper colored - top drilled - Swarovski Crystals.  These are so WARM that I had to pair them with something totally different.  So, Black Swarovski Crystals it was.  This is a Gold Plated Spring Wire bracelet with a safety chain - just in case.

And I was done!

I figured I would use the last of the beads on another project - later on down the road.  BUT, one of my loyal fans (Gypsy Road Beads) found out that I wasn't using the last few and encouraged me to make something with them... so, here they are:

These beautiful pottery beads are made by Elements Pottery and they were a wonder to work with.  They have SO much texture and beauty to them.

 SO, here it all is - in one look!!!

Now the fun part is that all of us that were involved in this great Bead Soup Party are now having a BLOG party to go with it!!! Here is the link to join in!  Come along with us and see what all the others (there were 200 people participating) received and made with their Bead Soup!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you would like to see a list of all those who participated, please click here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And here is a slide show that shows ALL the photos and views I took of my creation and the beads!  Enjoy!!!!

**** All these items will be listed in my Krafty Max Original ArtFire Studio by the end of the weekend if you are interested in purchasing them ****
