56 5th Bead Soup Blog Party

 ❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦❦

It is finally here!

I am so excited to reveal to you what I made!!

First let me start off by saying thank you to Ms. Lori Anderson at Pretty Things Blog for doing her wonderful Bead Soup Party again.  I was lucky enough to get chosen and am just thrilled to see what everyone else - including my swap partner - Beaded by Sandra has come up with.

Here is what I was sent....

Isn't it a beautiful mix?

I had so much fun trying different designs and adding in different beads to the mix.  The first project I did was - of course - the Purple beads.  The deep purple beads are Purple Agate and they are just 'shimmering' with color.  Then I just HAD TO use the beautiful Swarovski Crystals - in Purple Haze.  These added just the right amount of sparkle to the mix.  Now I needed to add 'just a little bit more' beads to fill up the strand.  I happened to have some beautiful Porcelain beads that were Purple Marble in color... a great fit!  Add in the BEAUTIFUL Sterling Toggle Clasp that she sent and some end caps and findings and.... here is what I came up with:

The next bead/centerpiece that drew my attention was the very 'earthy' bird from SpiritedEarth.  The Greek Ceramic beads blended so well into the theme I was going for that I kept the earthy look going with some Unakite stones that I already had in stock.  This necklace set just 'screams' Mother Earth, what do you think?

And now on to the wonderful Chili Pepper colored - top drilled - Swarovski Crystals.  These are so WARM that I had to pair them with something totally different.  So, Black Swarovski Crystals it was.  This is a Gold Plated Spring Wire bracelet with a safety chain - just in case.

And I was done!

I figured I would use the last of the beads on another project - later on down the road.  BUT, one of my loyal fans (Gypsy Road Beads) found out that I wasn't using the last few and encouraged me to make something with them... so, here they are:

These beautiful pottery beads are made by Elements Pottery and they were a wonder to work with.  They have SO much texture and beauty to them.

SO, here it all is - in one look!!!

Now the fun part is that all of us that were involved in this great Bead Soup Party are now having a BLOG party to go with it!!! Here is the link to join in!  Come along with us and see what all the others (there were 200 people participating) received and made with their Bead Soup!

2 Art Beads Special Post

Art Beads Special Post
Colors of Fall Design Partners Entry

Through the Art Beads Blogger Program I am given a theme, a budget and then I can let my imagination run!  This time the theme is 'Colors of Fall' and somehow those creations really come to me.  I am not sure if it is because I love the colors, the season or just something 'clicks' when I work in that grouping...but it works!  I had no problem choosing and designing this bracelet!   Below the photos are also links - so you can find these beads too!  I am also listing this bracelet in my KraftyMax studio...please enjoy!!!

Please visit Art Beads and check out all their wonderful items.  I actually was able to get all these supplies from them....please see the links below...

0 Traditional Tuesday

As the week is going by so very fast I find it is already Tuesday!!  How did that happen???          :~)

As my Traditional Tuesday feature I had to choose someone that was simply SPECTACULAR!!  And I did!  GoldenEggDesign hand draws, hand paints and does all the work on these wonderful eggs by hand.  There isn't any tracing or stickers on these eggs!! They are done in a traditional pysanky style and even coated to make them more durable and to help them age well!!!
These designs are just amazing.

Please visit Ms.Gail's studio and remember to mark it for your hotlist and to LIKE it for your FaceBook.....remember, these are OOAK designs, so hurry!!!  ~KM

-----------------ART BEADS-------------------

This is a blog sponsorship between Art Beads and a selective group of bloggers/beaders. Please check out their other wonderful selections.  I tried, tried and tried again to make something I was happy with out of these beads....I just love the beads, love the colors and can not make it work.  The block is mine, though, I am sure it is because I just can't get anything that matches this beautiful hand painted pendant.  Please check out Art Beads and I am sure you to will find something that will inspire you!! ~KM

0 Waggin Wednesday

This Wednesday I would like to 'wag' Artbeads tail!!

For the past 6 months or so they have allowed me to participate in a blog program.  They choose a category and then allow me to sample some of the beads from that category in order to review them.  I have loved working with Artbeads, however, this past time I have had a hard time with the beads that I choose....not because of the beads, because I seem to be unable to come up with a design I liked.  I have started, torn out, started again, torn out again, started again, torn out again.... about 6 times and I am just unable to make my work match the quality of the beads.  I did, however also order a Swarovski Color Wheel at the same time.

THIS item has been a wonderful addition to my tools.  It cleverly gives you the main, matching and also a harmonious color of crystals and pearls that will all work well together.  I have found that this has helped me in several designs.  Also, on the back of the wheel is a color code for Swarovski Crystals.  This is wonderful because some company's do not use the same name or color as Swarovski originally gives them (Artbeads does) and when a customer tells me a number or name I can match them up.

Below is a photo of all the wonderful beads I received, as well as, the Swarovski Color Wheel....if you a beginner or advanced beaded, I would HIGHLY recommend this tool!
Enjoy your Waggin Wednesday and don't forget to
WAG YOUR OWN TAIL TODAY!  ~KM
