2 Talented Tuesday 11/11/14 (Walk in the Woods, Veteran's Day and Give-A-Way)

For me, today means a lot!  My father (and most of my male relatives) served in the military, I served in the Navy for 4 years, my oldest son served in the Army, and now my husband has over 20 years with the Army / Army National Guard!  So, for me, military has always been a way of life! There have only been about 1 year of my adult life that I haven't been some part of the military! So, when I say that Veteran's Day means a lot, I mean it!

To all those who have served
no matter how long or in what type of service
I honor you!

Here are a couple of creations from my studio that you could wear on the next 'Red, White and Blue' day!!  Or, if you are like me.....any day!  And they are all 30% off until the end of today!

Today I am honored to introduce you to Ms. Rosemari Roast, owner/designer for Walk in the Woods, LLC.  I have the luck to own several of this amazing artists notebooks!!  I have to tell you that my daughter owns one too and is VERY protective of it...not just who sees it, buy what she puts in it!!

When I asked Ms. Roast to describe her art, she said 'In a nutshell, holistic-rooted, Nature-inspired art and craft' and for me, that says it all!! And she does.  All of her creations, no matter what it is, speaks of/for nature!!  Also being an herbalist she creates items that 'flow' together as well!

Tomorrow I will tell you LOTS more about her, but for now, visit her sites and remember to let her know where you heard about her amazing creations!!

2 Making Monday 11/10/14 (Pink Dragonfly, Red Cameo and a Give-A-Way)

What a weekend we had!!  And, for us, it is not really over.  The kids don't go back to school until Wednesday, so for us, it is still FUN TIME!!!

I have had so much going on for the past few months it was nice to actually 'take a day off'.   There are many times over the weekend that I am so busy that I don't get time to do anything!! For me it is the time to catch up on the housework, laundry, any errands that I have and such.  Even though I am home during the week I have to use that time for beading.  Most people don't realize this (other artists/crafters in this position will) but for me this is just like a full time job.  There is a 'clock in' time to start beading, a lunch break and a 'clock out' time.  Yes, they are more flexible than most jobs, but I have to be able to bead, do computer work and such each day or my business suffers.  And for those of you who might not know, I am a full fledged business.  I pay taxes, have a bank account and business license!!  I haven't been able to make a million dollars yet, but I am getting there! ;)  ha ha ha ha !!

Here are a couple of things from my studio..... and YES, I have extended the SALE!  I thought I would carry it through Veteran's Day, so I did!! You can save 30% off anything in my studio, and that includes these!!

Did you see the Dragonfly Sun-catcher finished??? I haven't been able to get photos of it yet, but I did get a 'working photo' of it finished....what do you think??

So, that means that today I get to start another creation!!! YEP!! I picked this red cameo out of my Grandmother's stash and I have to say, it is very beautiful in person!!  I do NOT know how old it is or why type of stone it is, but I just love it!!!  So, if you want to, you can come on over to my Fan Page, Google+ Page, or my Instagram Page; I post 'working photos' throughout the day!

I have to say, I am blown away at how few entries I have!!!  Remember, there are daily entries for those of you who are trying for this earring set!!

I was able to finish the dragonfly last night, but now, it is on to the 'word' at the bottom!!!  I hopefully will be able to finish it tomorrow, I thought I would be done today, but there are just to many rows still to do.  Oh, and there are 42 beads per row, and those beads are 11 per inch!!  Remember, you can come on over to my Fan Page, Google+ Page, or my Instagram Page; I post 'working photos' throughout the day!

Please help fund me.... I have so many plans on how to grow Krafty Max Originals, but all the updates and advertising takes money!! :)

Today I get to tell you about how Ms. Lynn Mehlenbacher, the Owner/Designer of
LightCatchers by Lynn makes her creations!!! I wasn't sure at first about putting her 'secrets' out there for others to see, but, I think that she just wants to show people how much work and dedication goes into each one!

First the design is drawn out on paper, then drawn again and cut into pieces.  Each piece gets a number and glued on the glass that is being used for that piece.  A glass cutter is then used to cut each piece as close to the pattern as possible.  Any areas that don't fit perfectly are then ground off with a grinding machine.  Often the pieces also have to be ground into shape (the glass doesn't always want to break in a curve)! Once each piece is perfect they are washed, dried and laid out in the design.  Putting foil around each piece is a very precise job, the foil must be in the middle of each piece (the foil is only 3/16 of an inch wide)!  Then it is time to solder the creation together, wash and dry it in order to start the next step.  Adding Patina is a way to turn the solder into a dark pewter color.  Then wax is applied - to give it a soft pewter finish.  Cleaning the extra wax off and finishing the creation takes a toothpick and soft cloth!  Adding a chain for hanging turns glass into a finished creation!

And remember, this is all done by an amazing artist that is legally blind!!

Here is my favorites - I couldn't choose just one!!

Today I feel even more energetic than before!! I am off and running with all the things that I would like to do with my business, personal life and even more family!!  Life is BUSY, but really good!! I hope that everyone is having a great time at life too.....I love to 'spread the joy' to all those around me!!

So, I decided to do a give-a-way.  Yep!! It has been a while, so we should have fun with this one!!  ENJOY, ENTER and spread the word!!

Although this isn't a NEW creation it is one that I love!!  The pink and white just seem to 'flow' together and with the flower in the middle it reminds me of a lily in a pond!!

Yesterday I introduced you to Ms. Lynn Mehlenbacher, the Owner/Designer of
LightCatchers by Lynn.    And boy, what a reaction I received!!  So many of you loved her creations!!

Today I want to tell you more about her and also something that might shock you even more than I did yesterday!  She is legally blind!! YEP!!!!!  In her younger years she drew and painted wall murals on her kids walls, but as time went on her vision got worse!  She is very upfront about her eye diseases and after a run with woodworking (that used power tools) she found glass work.  She can now see straight out and is able to use her very limited vision and her other senses to create with glass.  And that just makes her beautiful creations even more special!!

Here are two of her dream catchers - notice the glass feathers mixed into the real feathers?  They are some of my favorites of her creations!!  BUT, come back tomorrow and I'll share her process with you and also my absolute favorite creation!!!
