I was able to finish the dragonfly last night, but now, it is on to the 'word' at the bottom!!!  I hopefully will be able to finish it tomorrow, I thought I would be done today, but there are just to many rows still to do.  Oh, and there are 42 beads per row, and those beads are 11 per inch!!  Remember, you can come on over to my Fan Page, Google+ Page, or my Instagram Page; I post 'working photos' throughout the day!

Today I get to tell you about how Ms. Lynn Mehlenbacher, the Owner/Designer of
LightCatchers by Lynn makes her creations!!! I wasn't sure at first about putting her 'secrets' out there for others to see, but, I think that she just wants to show people how much work and dedication goes into each one!

First the design is drawn out on paper, then drawn again and cut into pieces.  Each piece gets a number and glued on the glass that is being used for that piece.  A glass cutter is then used to cut each piece as close to the pattern as possible.  Any areas that don't fit perfectly are then ground off with a grinding machine.  Often the pieces also have to be ground into shape (the glass doesn't always want to break in a curve)! Once each piece is perfect they are washed, dried and laid out in the design.  Putting foil around each piece is a very precise job, the foil must be in the middle of each piece (the foil is only 3/16 of an inch wide)!  Then it is time to solder the creation together, wash and dry it in order to start the next step.  Adding Patina is a way to turn the solder into a dark pewter color.  Then wax is applied - to give it a soft pewter finish.  Cleaning the extra wax off and finishing the creation takes a toothpick and soft cloth!  Adding a chain for hanging turns glass into a finished creation!

And remember, this is all done by an amazing artist that is legally blind!!

Here is my favorites - I couldn't choose just one!!

The trees are full of golden leaves;
