1 Marvelous Monday

Oh my goodness, what a weekend it was!  Aye got home about 630 Friday night and it was already raining!  The rain stayed through Saturday evening!  For me, that meant that I just HAD to stay inside and bead.....oh darn!?!  I worked on a couple more custom orders and actually got them done!!  YA HOOO!  Then I started this one...  

As I am sure you can see, this is a Reggae themed item, but I'll leave it as that!  I want to tease you a little an see if you can guess!  I'll be posting update on my fan page too, if you want to watch this develop!!

Then there is my Creations Color Challenge entry!  Here is what I came up with.  I am actually very happy with it!  At first, I have to say, it was hard for me to do.  My girlfriend told me it was because I do creations that are so organized - and this bracelet is NOT!  But, I am glad I stuck with it....I really do love the end result!  What do you think?

Today's featured artist is someone that puts my busy, creative life, to shame!  This wonderful artist, RustyReindeer,  has three main focus's for her art (you'll have to read her bio to find out what they are)!  Looking out her wall of windows in her Northern New Mexico home gives her endless inspiration.  I have to say, that the philosophies by which she works should be ALL of ours!  Here they are:

My philosophies:
1) Gifts should be given from the heart and they should mean something; they should be special, artful, purposeful. Don't waste your money and give one unless it's the right one.
2) I want my customers to be pleased, and I want them to know I'm there for them when they need something special, something fast, something unique.
3) Produce quality work.
4) Be honest and do business with integrity.
5) Always improve!

4 Terrific Tuesday

What a weekend!

Here in the United States we celebrated our Independance Day yesterday.  For us that is one of our top 5 holidays!  Most retailers are open, of course, but everyone else is closed and most of us BBQ!  I know we did!  It was so wonderful, a small group of my closest friends (including Kris from Aprons by MeMe).

Good home cooked food, friends, great converstation, how much better can it be?

I was able to get SOME work done yesterday, I posted my Creations Color Challenge - Black and White  entry.  It is very simple, but I think it is elegant.  I made the 'mistake' of showing it to Kris and she almost took it home with her!  What do you think?  Do you like it?

And here is some news about my studio and my work!  I have been very busy over the last couple of months.  Although I may not have been listing many of my new creations it is more because of the time it takes to get the photos and do the listings than anything else.  There are several creations that are completely done and several that just need the finishing work to be done.  With all of this being said, again, I have a plan!  I will be listing at least one new creation each day.  Some of them are simple and 'little', and some of them are major creations!  So please keep an eye out!  I will be putting the listing here as well, so try to remember to come back and check it out every day!

13 Marvelous Monday

OH my goodness, what a weekend!  

First, let me BRAG about my kids!!!

Monster won a medal for reading 27 of his grade level books

And then there was Aye - reading 54 grade level books

And here is the kicker..... my mom-in-law took them to the awards ceremony and entered them into the 'door prizes'.  Guess who won?  Can you guess?  My little kindergartener - 6 years old - won a laptop!  Yes, it is a few years old, but it works just fine and is MORE than he will need for a long time!  

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT???   

Then the fun came in trying to get him OFF the computer over the weekend!!
