0 What's New Wednesday 3/18/15 (Pink and Black Agate, SteampunkCoasters and an iPhone Case)

So, here they are.  My son and his new bride!  I am so proud!!  The second photo also has my mom and dad in there....what a special day!! I am sorry I missed it, but trips to California from Florida just isn't possible right now! 

Yesterday I finished one project and was able to start on another one!!  I haven't gotten a chance to do the photo shoot and listing yet for this one, but I will get it done today!!

But I did get to start on the Pink and Black Agate Slice....let's see what I can do with this one!!  Remember, you can come over to my Fan Page, Google+ Page, or my Instagram Page  were I post 'working' photos throughout the day.

Yesterday I  introduced you to JosephAnthony the owner and designer behind SteampunkCoasters and today, I want to tell you more about him!  

When I asked him how his craft has evolved over time, his answer really struck home with me;  At first I really thought I was making some high quality items…I was wrong. Once the shine wears off and you start seriously looking at your craft you beat yourself up pretty bad, I think everyone does that. Once I faced the reality that I needed to do some more research on techniques, styles, color schemes etc. The items I was producing got markedly better. I am constantly trying new things and changing up the process. You always want to produce a better item. For many of us this says what we all feel in the beginning!!

He has been published in the local paper and mentioned on the news - no doubt that will happen more and more!!  I just love to watch what is being 'remade' into something new!!  Currently there is work going with this project....everything that you see is found objects and the finished piece will have photos for the numbers!!

And here are two of my favorites!!  I know they aren't Steampunk, but they are terrific and have that vintage and unique look that comes from a talented artists!

4 Talented Tuesday 3/17/15 (SteampunkCoasters, My Son and new Daughter-in-law and St. Patrick's Day)

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!  Today I also get to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my oldest son!!  He lived in California and is also getting married to his beautiful fiance today.  And soon, they will be making me a GRANDMA (not sure how I feel about that part yet)!!!  So, HAPPY Birthday to my son, Kertis.  Congrats to my son and new daughter-in-law and Happy St. Patricks Day to the rest of you!!!!! :)

Today, it is a complete honor to introduce you to JosephAnthony the owner and designer behind SteampunkCoasters.   This talented artist has a 'little bit' going on!!  ON-LINE he creates, designs and sells his amazing Steampunk Coasters.  But off line he takes furniture and vintage junk (his word not mine) and turns it into beautiful creations for home decor!! Oh, did I mention that he also sells Old Town Paints (Chalk paint) and teaches people how to use it!?!?!  And now, there is a new bunch of creations he is working on.....reuse/recycle/upscale items.....like turning an OLD fan into a desk lamp!!

I have to say, that everything I have seen (and I have been a fan of his site for a while) I just love!!  Although he is self taught he blames credits his mom and grandmother for giving him the antique/flea market bug!!

2 Making Monday 3/16/15 (Mi Casa Cafe, Catherine's Musings and Bead Peeps Swap 'n' Hop)

WHAT A WEEKEND!!!  Spent with the family watching the St. Patrick's Day parade and then going to the Celtic Fest in St. Augustine!!  OH MY, talk about busy and fun!! The weather (sorry for my northern friends) was in the 80's and BEAUTIFUL!!  I didn't get any good photos, but I'll look through some my son took....maybe we'll find a couple!  

Last weekend I was down in St. Augustine for the Seafood fest as a vendor and let me just say that I have to thank my daughter again!  Not only did she help me with my booth (for 3 days) but she also found this amazing place right along the historical St George Street.  When we were (there was 6 of us) down there again this past weekend we stopped in the same cafe - Mi Casa Cafe - and just let me tell you......WONDERFUL!!  Last weekend they saved us - both in price and in GREAT food.  This weekend it was our oasis! Ms. Marnie and her 'boys' provided us with a cool place to rest our tired feet and some of the best food I've had in a LONG TIME!! I wish I had photos, but we were so hungry we dug right in....and ALL of us LOVED IT!!! And Ms. Marnie is a treat as well!!  As we sat....filling out "tummies with yummies" (a cute saying my son came up with) we had great conversation and then....the live music started....you really MUST make this a destination if you are in St. Augustine, Florida!

AND HERE - is what she sent me!!! I am so very excited!!  EVERYTHING is wonderful!!!!

ALL I can say is THANK YOU!!  Even the containers are going to be used...they make perfect little project boxes!!  Now, to just design and bead what is in my mind to do with all these beads....I am seeing MULTIPLE projects!!! :)  I am so very lucky!!!
