Solace Sunday's

With two extra kids this morning - all waking up about 630am - I am in need of some solace!  I love having Aye's friends over, it is so fun to do crafts and enjoy tickles with a group of kids!!

So, as I was looking around Etsy for some perfect 'Solace' inspiration, I found Dahlia House Art Studio.  This wonderful ACEO print speaks for itself.  I can see that I would really be able to bead in this quiet, simple place.

Please enjoy your Solice Sunday, no matter if it is queit, full of pre work for Thankgiving, or watching the ball games with your family fans!  I know I will.... ~KM

This morning's turning into anything by a Solace Sunday!  Yesterday we celebrated Aye's birthday at the skating rink with all her friends and family.  Then Grandma Kozi took Aye, Monster and I to the movies...we saw Avatar.  Ya HOOOOO!  What a good movie. I can't wait until I see it again.

However, now I am paying for it!  Monster didn't get a nap yesterday (usually 2+ hours each day), and we didn't get home until about 10:30pm (usual bed time - 8:00pm), so that is my Solace Sunday...frustration and exhaustion!  That is why when I looked around Etsy for a good artist to feature I made special care to find one that would make me feel better today.  And I found one, Jane Elizabeth's shop is just that shop.  Her wonderful photo is the essence of Solace and beauty.  Please check out her shop and let her know what you think.

Have a great Solace Sunday and enjoy the few days of madness left before Christmas.  ~KM

Now that I am finally on the road to recovery I am thinking more about Christmas and Aye's birthday (Dec 17th).  Last night my hubby helped me get the tree up (decorating will have to wait until today - kids can help) and clean up a little bit.
Boy do I still wear out fast.

This morning as I looked around Etsy I found many wonderful artist, but for some reason this simple little piece of artwork jumped out at me.  Measuring only at 4x6 it is just a beautiful painting and screen.  Please visit, Sketchbookstudioart, and let them know what you think.  There are many other simple, yet absolutely beautiful, paintings still to see....

So, enjoy your Solace Sunday - I know I will...  ~KM

What a beautiful weekend this has been!  The weather has been perfect, the family has little to no commitments and we are all happy and together.  It has been a few weeks since we have been able to enjoy each others company.

For me, my ACEO project has 'bitten' me in the _ _ _ _'.  I had to re-start it, but as you can see in the previous post, I am now well on my way to making it work! I will update you more as my rows continue...

This morning I took some time to look around Etsy to try to find a featured artist for this wonderful Solace Sunday, and here is what I found...

These wonderful paintings almost come alive, even in the photos.   I can see the love and tenderness in the motions of these wonderful paintings.  What a talented Etsian.  I would love to have this whole set for my home (hint*hint*hint).  Please check out the Coral Island Gallery and let this mother daughter team know what you think of their art.

Please enjoy your Solace this Sunday, and do something for yourself and your family today!  ~KM

This Sunday is our last, before school starts tomorrow. My daughter, Aye, will be starting 4th grade and my son, Monster, will soon be starting Pre-K. Things in our house are anything but Solace today! With last minute 'gathering' and packing, cleaning and lecturing, it is a very hectic place, however, if I saw these chairs on the beach I would most definitely 'Sit and Enjoy'!!!

Thanks to photoazzo for this wonderful moment.

Please, ENJOY your moment(s) today, too. -KM

0 Solace Sunday's

In most places around the world Sunday is a day of Rest or of Family. For my family we are getting together today to 'just to be together'. My daughter is getting ready to go to her first week long camp without any family or friends with her, for a 9 year old this is a milestone. My son is getting ready to go to my best friends for the same week long period, as a belated Birthday gift to me and my husband. Although my husband will still have to work while the kids are gone it will be the first time we don't have them home for more than a day or so - and rarely do we have them both gone at the same time.

For me, today is a day of packing and planning, yet also a day of hugging and thinking back to when my children were to little to go off on their own, even with family or friends! I am also thinking about how quiet my home will be (and how much beading I will get done) without my crazy children here, but also about how I will miss them terribly. They may 'be crazy' and 'drive me crazy' but they are MINE.

My husband and I will get some much needed 'adult' time in this next week, too.

So, as this day comes to and end and all the bags are packed, children are clean and in bed, I know have to pause and think about how lucky I am to have my loving husband and wonderful children around me every day!

Enjoy your Solace Sunday. KM
