Over the past few weekends we have been working on our 'little' plot around the house. Some of you that have followed me for a while may remember that last year around this time they were starting work around our house. They completely DESTROYED all of my flowers, garden and what yard we had. I just didn't have the heart to work on it last year. By the time they were done it was the heat of the summer and way to late to be out side working - for me or the plants!! Here is what I was left with last year - this is when they were DONE!!!
Now, what you can't see is that over on the right side corner they actually LEFT the sidewalk and driveway in tact, so we were unable to use any edging or anything like that. They literally put the dirt on top of whatever was there already!!
For weeks we swept dirt off the sidewalk, out of the house and off our shoes!!
So, here is what the front looks like now....
Notice the little mini brick wall to the right - remember, there is concrete under that end!! Here is the rest of what we did - this is along the front (away from the jeep) side of the house....
So, as you can see we have a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the flowers. I want to feature this wonderful artist that goes right along with my beautiful flowers! She and I have worked together before and as it happens she live only about an hour or so from us - on the beach!! I just love her work and am proud to show off her studio - HappyMooseGardenArt. I have several of her pots and would just love to add this little bench to my garden! Who knows.....
So as you go about your life today, remember that dirt can be washed off, sometimes it is good to just FEEL the earth!! ~KM
Good job! It will all be so beautiful when your flowers come in! I love the little animals keeping watch over your flower beds!
