1 A New Day is Dawning
So, today as I wake up again at 430am and sit down to bead while the house is quiet I have come to some major life choices.... amazing that at 'almost' 40 you can find yourself just finally coming to the place you always wanted. Some of my decision is personal and I won’t go into those, but one of the biggest has to do with my craft. I have decided to make it a REAL business. I have been doing shows for over 5 years now and I have been making jewelry for more than 30, but I never really made a choice, it was always just for fun. Because of the economy we (my family) are faced with a choice to either have me go back to work or to make the crafts become profitable. I WILL make them work. Up until 5 years ago I worked in corporate America and thought my beading was just a hobby, when my youngest was born I started to 'play' with running a business at it. Now I am serious. If anyone has any tips, I’d love to read them. I am all ears. I know that this is a very competitive industry and that the economy is down, but I am going to make it! I love beading and don't want to have to put aside my passion for a business suit again.
