3 Marvelous Monday 10/29/12

What a beautiful day I woke up to.  For us here in Florida our weather has gone from humid and warm to cool and dry - overnight.  The wind has picked up and is making it simply beautiful outside.  It makes me so invigorated and inspired!!!  I can't wait to get the kids off to school and sit outside and bead!!

On Friday my wonderful husband supprised me with some flowers..... yes, he is THAT kind of hubby!!!  It was - just because - and it was BEAUTIFUL!!!

Our weekend was fun, full of Operation: Military Kids events and Halloween!!  On Friday we went to the Challenger Center for a Day Camp.... that was so very much fun!!  The kids get so much out of science and space!!!

Then I was able to invite many of my Operation: Military Kids to local American Legions for Halloween parties  they were filled with smiles, fun and food!!!!

Just look at my Monster!!

Then, my dear friend Ms. Kala showed me the posts she did on my Certificate Promotion...... THANK YOU so much!!  Come check them out!!  She also makes some wonderful jewelry - I am lucky enough to own a couple of her creations!!!

0 Weekend Re-Post 10/13/12

Re-posted from 10/11/12

Today I have to say that I have been a bit busy lately.  I am going to be writing something that is NOT a Tantrum, however, I think that most of you will understand.  There are some personal things that have taken me away from my 'beading' life lately.  I have been still showing off my new creations and I have been 'stocking' up with my creations over the past few months.  As many of you know I have a part-time job now (one that I LOVE) but I find that it takes me away from my beading time.
There is something else that I haven't told most of you, and after much consideration, I am going to tell you all now.  As most of you know I have 3 kids.... a 21 year old son that lives with his fiance in California.  After serving in the Army for 2 years he is not 'my baby' anymore!  I am EXTREMELY proud of him and wish that all his dreams come true.  I also have a beautiful 12 year old daughter, Aye, who has an IQ of over 150!  She is in the gifted program at her middle school and is a talented artist in her own right.
Now for the part that most of you don't know.  My other son, Monster, who is 7 is where my life goes.  He has been diagnosed with ADHD and Extreme Behavioral Syndrome for over 3 years.  We have had our ups and downs and with medications we have been able to handle amazing little man.  Over this past summer we had a LOT of problems with him though,  and after over 2 years of therapy he now has a new diagnosis, it is another Mood Disorder.   With new medication and great help at his school and therapists we are making great strides in the right direction.  There are many days, however, that my life is full of major fits and hours of screaming.  Then, there are days that my 'little man' is the perfect angel and wants to cuddle for hours in my lap.
Again, this has been a long discussion - whether or not to share - all this with you, my 'on-line' family and friends.  The reason I finally have chosen to share all of this is that I have recently come across another family struggling with some of the same issues.  I realized that with my openness and by sharing some of the things that I have gone through I might be able to help others.  For my husband and I this has been a long journey and we have had to learn and re-learn so many things.
Ironically what made me decide to do this now, was something that happened yesterday with my Monster.  He needed help getting his bike out the the shed and with my help we did.  But, in that process he noticed a Dragonfly on the top of our AC unit.  At first we thought it was alive and that we were rescuing it.  Once it was 'rescued' we discovered that it was dead.  My Monster had such a broken heart.  Not just because the Dragonfly was dead, but because I love Dragonflies and he wanted it to be alive for me!  This seemed to touch my heart to the core.  After taking some photos of the Dragonfly it is now sitting on the counter.... it will soon find itself preserved in a frame for my wall.  Anyone that has an exceptional child will understand this moment I had and why it touched me so much.
For any of those of you that would like to ask questions, please feel free, I will answer any of them I can.  There are some things that we will still have to keep private and personal.
Here is our Dragonfly!!

4 Marvelous Monday 10/1/12

What a great weekend we had!  On Saturday Aye and I were at an event for Operation: Military Kids where I was able to give out almost 100 Hero Packs to Military Youth that have just had their parent returned from deployment over seas!  What a great way to spend the day!!!  I just love seeing the look in the faces the kids when they get these great packs and look inside and find a handwritten note thanking them for their service!  I know I don't talk about my part-time job very much, but this is one of those days I just had to share!!!

Then when I got home I was able to see this amazing sunset.....

Now that, is a Saturday!!!  On Sunday we spent the day cuddling and tickeling the kids.... it is always such a great day for us!!

I DID get to put something new out on my tray though, it is the one that everyone picked out of my 'bunch' of stones..... let's see what I can do with it this week!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, so many of you got a kick out of my Mustache bracelet..... want to see it from start to finish???
And here is where you can find this bracelet if you would like to purchase it!!  I will also be posting the pattern - later in the week - if you would like to purchase that!!
Today's featured artist..... KeriMae (Crafts by Keri).  This little black widow is only 1 inch by 1 inch!!!!!  I work with little beads, but can you just imagine how it must be to work with these little creations?!!?!  This amazing mother had taught herself to crochet and is now making some of the most amazing things!!  There are things for the baby and 'baby' things for us to look at too!!  Please go check out her studio and all her sites.  And remember, always support handmade artists if you can!
2 Marvelous Monday 5/21/12
Any of you that follow me every day know that I was out of town for most of the week.  I went to a conference that will help me with my work at Operation: Military Kids.  It was a wonderful couple of days - learning and listening - or as our great instructor said - FUN, FACTS and FOOD!!!
  However, I was away from family and house and boy did I miss it!  It is amazing how just a couple of days can make a difference!!
So, when I came home it was catch up time!
Catch up on:
Cuddles
Hugs
Kisses
Dishes
Laundry
more Cuddles
Beadwork
and more Hugs!
Now that I have all of those out of my system - at least for a few hours, I am going to spend the day creating and enjoying my quiet house - at least for a few hours!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I do want to show off another of my Aye's drawings.  I am just so very impressed with her drawing.  I am very creative, but I can  NOT draw or paint!  I have taken classes, gotten books and even had someone (my dad) who is a VERY talented pen and ink artist try to teach me.  My daughter, however, is an amazing - SELF taught - artist.  She looks through her books and sits and draws.  I am so much in aah and envy of her!  Isn't she talented?? Just AMAZING!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Then there are the two new listings that I haven't show you yet!  I just love them both!
Flowers are the Thing to Wear - Beadwoven Bracelet
Jade and Multi-Color Swarovski Crystal Delight Necklace Set
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For today, like I said, I am going to relax and enjoy the day.  I WILL be doing some beading too!

Plant your feet firmly and let your heart have wings.
